New Baby and a Funeral

On July 31st while Rod and I, Mom and Dad, and my bothers and sister and their families were camping, my Grandpa Bond passed away. He had gone in for throat surgery and although the surgery went fine, that night he must have tried to get out of bed or something, but he fell and the fall is what caused him to lose consciousness. He would have had a lot of problems had they decided to keep him alive, so that night with all of my aunts and uncles there as well as some cousins, they gave him a blessing and then cut off life support. I wasn't able to be there, my bothers and sisters except for Kolby were still on the mountain, but it was a sad day for us.

Grandpa's funeral was held on Saturday August 8th and it was a very good service. My Aunt sharla, Dustan (cousin), my bother Kolby, Jason (cousin), Mika (cousin), and my Dad all spoke. They all did such a wonderful job and the stories reminded me of what my Grandpa used to be like before his throat cancer. We will all miss him very much and I know I can speak for all of my cousins and family when I say we are glad he was a part of our lives. I hope he's having a wonderful reunion with those who have gone on before.

I thought this was a little interesting, but my Grandpa ended up being buried right next to the spot where Rod and I had our first kiss. ha ha Yes, it was at the cemetery. :)

My Dad and brother pulled my grandpa in a horse drawn hearse. My dad does this occasionaly for those older cowboys that would really appreciate it.
This is just as they were getting ready to pass the street where my home is, as well as my Grandpa and Grandma's house and my Grandpa's parents house. Three generations all on one block. :) From left to right is my Aunt Sharla, Grandma Bond, Aunt Jan, Aunt Carma, and my Dad.
Left to Right: My Dad and Mom, Uncle John and Aunt Sharla Starley, Grandma Bond, Aunt Jan and Uncle John Frampton, Aunt Carma, and Uncle Mike Hodges.
Left to Right: Kolby holding Josi, Becca holding Angus (Gus), Rodney, Me, Grandma and in front is Gavyn, Klaudia (her baby boy Cash is at our house in this pic and Cam is at the races), Mom holding Katie (Klaudia's), Dad, Amanda, and Kolton.

It was hard to find out that Grandpa had passed away, and while one life was gone, a new life came on August 5th. Klaudia had her little boy Cash in St. George around 4:15 pm. She makes having babies look like a breeze since she went in around 10:00, they broke her water around 3:00 and the baby came in a little over an hour. She looks dang good too!I think Katie was pretty excited to get a baby brother, we'll see how it pans out now that she's not the one getting all the attention. :)I think Gavyn was pretty stoked to finally have a boy cousin on the Bond side!I think he tried to give me a little smile....This is the youngest I've ever seen Rod hold a baby at 4 days old! Look at his little bitty feet! And me with the little mitten man! Congrats Klaud! He's so cute!

Conference Weekend

So last weekend we stayed in Logan for General Conference. A couple of nights before we went to Al's sporting goods because they were having a USU student sale and so we bought a BBQer and a griddle to go on our camp chef. We were so excited! On Sunday we got a couple of steaks out and bbqed them. It was so good, and I think Rod was most excited. :) So we need to thank Rod's parents for the steaks and my parents for the camp chef. Now summer can come since we now have a BBQ.

After Rod took this picture we were both thinking of how blessed we are. We are so grateful for all that God has blessed us with!

This is what I do during conference to make sure I stay awake and still pay close attention to what is being said. I'm such a good colorer, I know :) I was so proud I hung it on our fridge. haha

Since we don't have television we brought in the love seat from the living room and watched conference from our computer. It was fun!

Happy B-day Rod!!

Rod's birthday was on the 28th, although we kind of drug out the celebration over a few days. :) First of all on Friday we ate at a Chinese restaurant which was really good. Then on Saturday after Rod worked, we went to Wal-Mart and got a few things then I made homemade pizza and we watched a movie. Then on sunday which is the pictures below, we had a few neighbors and friends over to eat cake and ice cream with us.

Rod, the big 23! He got all of his candles in one breath!

Sam and Shauna are next to Rod, Brok & Anne are on the other couch, then Brittney & Matt, Tony & ChristieAnne, and on the right is Riley & Cassie. It was a lot of fun to have everyone together for just a little while. Thanks everyone for coming!
Rod's cake. It looks like a little kids drawing, but I had a lot of fun making it!

Baby Gus Has Arrived!!

So I'm a little late posting this, but March 10th around 5:30 or 6:00 in the morning Becca had a baby boy!! They didn't know what they were going to have so it was really exciting to find out! They are naming him Angus Hyrum Bond and calling him Gus for short. So they are sticking with G's for the boys I guess....Gavyn and Gus. :) He weighed 8 lbs 11 oz and I'm not sure how long. I haven't gotten to see him yet so I'm REALLY exicted to go home this next weekend for Ruth's reception so that I can see baby Gus!!

The happy family now plus one!

Proud Grandma and Grandpa

Gavyn was a little sick so he couldn't hold the baby, but I think they were both pretty interested in their brand new baby brother.Josie said "No! My mom is bringing home a baby sister!" when they were still at home with Grandma Probert. Grandma Probert told Josie that her little sister let Gus come first, so not to worry, she will come later. From the looks of it, I think she's forgotten all about Gus being a boy or not! So cute!

Picture Tag

I have been tagged from Klaudia--Go to your pictures, get into your 6th folder, and post your 6th picture in that folder. Then tag 6 more people.

So this is a picture of my brother Kolby with his son Gavyn while they are branding calves. I don't even want to tell you what he is putting in Gavyn's hand......but as you can see, there is a knife in Kolby's mouth..... Sorry, it really was my 6th!! Besides, some people think they're a delicacy. :) haha
Now I tag Chelo Hillegas, Elise VanO, Brittney Mason, Anne Sorenson, & Melissa Whatcott.

Decorating

So I tried to decorate our barren kitchen and bedroom yesterday just a little. I got all the greenery and flowers and the vase and then got the blocks and painted them, I'm not sure what I think of the finished product.... I think it needs some work honestly. Does anyone have any ideas?

I'm not quite finished in our bedroom, but I like how the flowers match our bed..... in case you were wondering why I used blue and yellow. :)

Kolton & Amanda's Wedding

On February 19th Rod and I went home for Kolton and Amanda's wedding which was on the 21st. It was a very nice ceremony and they had a lot of people come to their reception. I know that our family was very greatful for all of the love and support that was shown to Kolton and Amanda. Here are a few pictures from that day.

These two couldn't even make it to the beginning of the ceremony! They were out and sleeping in the corner before it started. :)

This is our entire family as of now. As you can see, Rebecca is expecting in March, Amanda should be having her baby in July, and Klaudia is expecting in September. The number of grandkids are going to double this year! And no...... Rod and I aren't expecting. We don't want to follow the crowd. haha
