Our Christmas Tree!

This year we bought our very own Christmas tree! I begged and begged till we finally went to the store and picked it out along with all of the decorations. I feel like it really is Christmas time now with a tree in our house! It is fake, I've always been raised with real trees, but since we're renting, we don't think we can have real trees in our house. This is good though because we will have it for many years!

While we were putting up the tree Rodney decided to be funny and put the two branches in for arms. It made me laugh.

And here it is! Some of it looks gold to me in the picture, but it's just silver and blue. I like it a lot!

Light Parade & Cubes of Butter

During the Thanksgiving break my little brother and his girlfriend Amanda had to sing at the light parade ceremony thing so all of us girls and the kids went up and watched. It was a lot of fun, but Katie was a little aunry towards the end! lol

The park in Fillmore has lights up every year from the different businesses in town, this is just one little side part.

As you can see, Katie is very upset about the seat belt and going home, while Josi is completely ready for a picture. lol

Katie was ready too by the time we were pulling in the drive way.

So when we got home from the light parade all of the adults gathered into the dining room and we started playing catch phrase. Gavyn was playing with us too, so we put on a movie for Josi and Katie. Wellllll.......... guess who puts butter cubes in the freezer and has a freezer on the bottom of the fridge? My mom. Guess what two little girls think that butter is like chocolate? Yep, these two! I didn't get a picture of both of them cuz they both got in trouble too fast, but here is Katie holding a whole cube of butter with most of the top half gone and Josi had one just like it, except she had even eaten some of the paper that she couldn't get off!! haha Gross!!

Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving we stayed at my house and then we went up to my family's one room cabin and ate dinner there. It was a lot of fun with some of my cousins and their kids as well. Here is from left to right my dad, my cousins son Garett, Rodney, my little brother Kolton, and my older brother Kolby.

It's kinda small inside, but it's nice because we can all chat with each other.

My Aunt Jan brought playdough for the kids. It's a good thing too because it was rainy that day and the kids were getting restless inside! This is my Aunt Jan helping the boys with their playdough.

Outside of the cabin my dad piles up all of the limbs that he cuts off of the trees around the cedar field. We call it the cedar field because all around the cabin and our correls there are tons of cedars. Anyway, he piles them up and then as soon as we have a big pile of them we have a bon fire. We do this a couple of times during the year, we did it during Easter this year and then now at Thanksgiving. It is a fun tradition and when it dies down we roast hot dogs and marshmellows, although having it at Thanksgiving this year didn't leave us much room for hot dogs!

Klaudia and Katie's Visit!

So life obviously got way hectic after we both got jobs!! It's been forever since I've updated our blog, but at the same time, we haven't really done a ton either. One of the main things we've done is have Rod's brother Cliff and his wife Melissa and their son Josh come and stay with us which was a blast! We went to the Pumpkin Walk that they have here in Logan and that was a lot of fun. We also went home the weekend before last for Rodney's Gma Joyce and Gpa Glenn's 60th wedding anniversary. It was a very fun party and so fun to see all of the family again!

Other than that, we've pretty much just been going from school to work to home and starting over again the next day.

This is pretty much what Klaudia and I did all weekend. We were on the computer making our Christmas gifts for the family and uploading pictures and everything while Rod was so kind to take care of Katie.

They were listening to the radio and Katie was dancing around.

Pretty much these two lounged around watching movies and teasing each other. They kept Klaudia and I entertained from the other room!

White Trash Bash

So every year on the ambassador team at USU they hold a white trash bash. It pretty much the cheapest funniest party ever where everyone dresses up like white trash and we eat the easiest food such as mac and cheese with hot dogs in it etc. It is pretty wild with toilet paper streamers and home made rootbeer made in a garbage can (new and clean) :) This is how Rod and I dressed up for the party.

Our Jobs

So I forgot to post this onto our blog, but Rodney and I are both working now. Rodney started on like the 29th of September and I started on the 6th of October. Rodney is working for the city bus station Cash Valley Transit District (CVTD). He is training now, but once he's finished training he'll be driving the city bus! Once he starts drivng they said his wage would increase and he could also get benefits at some point. When he starts driving I'll for sure take pictures and post them. It's nice for him because they work with his school schedule. I think that he is liking it so far, he gets a little fed up with all of the nit picky rules that they have because there are drivers that need those rules and others that would do fine without them, but he says he's also a little stressed to drive up here where it's a little more hectic. I know he'll do a great job though!

My job is at Wasatch Property Management, Corp. It's like an internship. I'll be working Mon, Wed, Fri this semester and then next semester I will work full time and take classes at night. Once I graduate in May and actually have my degree my salary will increase and when I go full time in Dec I can get benefits so Rod and I are excited about that since we're living on the edge right now with no insurance! :0 Right now I'm helping the financial officers of the company and then when I go full time I'll be a financial officer. This company takes real estate and builds communities on those properties such as condos, apartments, townhomes, etc. So each financial officer is over 8 to 10 of these communities and does all of the accounting for them. They have some in California, Arizona, Colorado, Wahington state, & Utah. I've really loved it so far and it's exactly what I thought I would be doing when I graduated.

We both feel so lucky to have good sturdy jobs and realize that we are very blessed!

General Conference

This weekend we went down to Salt Lake on Friday night and went to Rodney's mission reunion and then on Saturday we met up with my mom and dad and went to the second session of General Conference. Neither Rod or I, or even my parents had been before, so it was a special occasion for us and we really enjoyed it! We would have taken more pictures but it was so rainy outside that we didn't want to get the camera out, so we just took these with our phones. After conference we were able to go and eat at Red Lobster and my sister and her husband and Katie came too. It was a lot of fun!

Rod's Mission Reunion

This is Rod's mission president, President Martinez and his wife. They are from Puerto Rico and are an amazing couple.
This is Jared Elison a good buddy of Rod's. They helped each other out a lot during the mission.This is Brother and Sister Barney. They worked in the mission office and she was the mission nurse. She said that mainly missionaries would come into the clinic because they knew they would take them out to eat after. :) They live across the mountain in Monroe, Ut. This is Ian Thomas. He started in the MTC with Rodney.This is Elva (Richman) Robins and her husband Leo. She served in the mission office before she came home and got married and took care of Rodney while he was out there. They are both from the same area as Rodney and I so it was nice for me to have people I knew there as well!
This is Ryan Bennion. He was a good friend in the mission as well.
This is Sister Paskett. She also worked in the mission office and was so cute! She said she was a little worried out there because she didn't know Spanish, but did an amazing job for the missionaries out there.

Having Katie for the Weekend

The last weekend of September Rodney and I got to watch my niece Katie. She is so fun to have over and she constantly keeps us laughing!

Streaker

Katie loves it when you undress her and she can get away from you! I was going to put her pajamas on and she squirmed out of my hands and started running around the house in her diaper :) We couldn't help but laugh!

Rodney took Katie to play outside while I was gone Saturday night and let her get all dirty in our back yard. When I got home, she was swimming in the tub.

The Park

During Katie's stay, we went to the park with Brittney Mason and her little boy Carter. It was a lot of fun and Katie and Carter had fun playing together!
